Are you an experienced contract management professional ready to make an impact in a complex, fast-paced public sector environment? We’re looking for 2 Contract Managers (General) to join a collaborative team in Darwin on a 6-month full-time contract with a possible extension.
About the Role
This position plays a critical role in delivering strategic and operational contract outcomes across a diverse range of general (enabling) contracts. As part of a centralised commercial and procurement team, you'll provide direct contract management and governance support, while also mentoring other contract managers across various business units.
You’ll be the go-to for contract startup, performance, and close-out activities, and help strengthen frameworks and improve contract outcomes through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Contract Manager for general contracts, facilitating key performance discussions, issue resolution, and supplier engagement.
- Provide coaching and contract governance advice to support other teams in managing their own contracts.
- Assist in implementing a contract management framework across operational teams.
- Develop and implement improvement strategies to optimise contract outcomes.
- Draft policies, procedures, and compliance reports.
- Collaborate across departments to resolve disputes, negotiate variations, and ensure contract performance aligns with organisational goals.\
Who you are
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in stakeholder and supplier negotiations.
- Demonstrated experience in senior contract management roles, ideally in commercial or government environments.
- Proficiency in contract management software, Excel, and reporting systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks independently and collaboratively within set timeframes.
- Analytical and investigative skills with a focus on strategic outcomes.
Desirable
Familiarity with public sector or utilities contracting frameworks.
Relevant qualifications in procurement or contract management.
Experience providing strategic contract advice in a corporate, utilities, or construction setting.
